This copy of the book “The Likeness of Being – Portraits by Philip Burke” was published as a companion to the renowned exhibition of the same name at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, Buffalo, NY, in 2015.
The dust jacket is composed with portraits painted by Burke including likenesses of: Barack Obama, Mick Jagger, Slash, Hillary Clinton, Ani DiFranco, Jerry Garcia, Madonna, Princess Diana, John Lennon, Bono, Kurt Cobain, Little Richard, Neil Young, and Courtney Love.
The book includes many other portraits, including several self-portraits, and is published by the Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY Buffalo State.
